Canisius Library by Architectural Resources

Design Brief

Project Location: Buffalo, NY

The Canisius Library was once a traditional library that provided a location to study between classes. The design team was tasked with the challenge of transforming the space into a modern library that fosters the learning styles of todays students while retaining traditional Lasallian pedagogy. The introduction of group study rooms, collaboration tables, touchdown spaces, group lounge, individual study, computer labs and digital technology provide a varied array of study needs for the young men of Canisius. Upon opening the doors of the re-envisioned library, demand has been so high that rarely a seat remains empty.
