Our WorkSUNY Buffalo State Classroom Building

Classroom Building by Architectural Resources

Design Brief

Project Location: Buffalo, NY

The A|r team has partnered with Buffalo State College to transform the Classroom Building into a high-performance facility and a campus community hub which promotes learning and the exchange of ideas.

This strategic renewal of the Classroom Building calls for a complete reconfiguration of the building to improve user experiences, meet current code standards, remove hazardous materials, renovate the exterior envelope, replace mechanical, plumbing, and data systems, interior finishes, fixtures, and furniture.

The deep energy retrofit includes a new contemporary, high-efficiency envelope that compliments the original 1960’s-era building and addresses lack of insulation and water infiltration. Renovation will preserve a historical asset and ensure its future as a key part of the educational environment at Buffalo State College.

*This project is being completed in collaboration with Perkins and Will
