Architectural Resources was requested by Cornell University to provide design services and modernization recommendations for four elevators within Statler Hall and Hotel. The 4-diamond hotel features two passenger elevators and one service elevator, while the hall has one passenger elevator for the hotel administration students and faculty. To increase efficiency and performance in the heavy-traffic environment of the school and hotel, A|r recommended the replacement of the existing geared traction machines to gearless machines along with comprehensive upgrades to the elevator electrical infrastructure. A|r coordinated car interior and fixture finishes with the Hotel Interior Designer to ensure code compliance while also maintaining the high-end atmosphere and style of the Statler Hotel.
