Design Brief

Project Location: Oneonta, NY

The Netzer Administration Building is home to student services offices, including financial aid, academic achievement, student accounts, and the campus career development center. This comprehensive renovation aligns with Oneonta’s strategic goals for fostering student inclusion, engagement, and success.

A|r conducted a program study, developed conceptual and design documents, and created a multi-phase renovation strategy to guide the transformation. The project will establish a centrally located student services hub that brings together key administrative and student support departments, creating a more welcoming, accessible, and inclusive support services for the campus community.

The Deep Energy Retrofit of Netzer will provide extensive envelope improvements, including a new roof and glazing, in addition to a new adjacent geothermal field. Together, these upgrades represent a major step toward achieving the university’s sustainability and carbon-reduction goals.
