Project Location: Syracuse, NY
Architectural Resources, in conjunction with Watts Architecture and Engineering, is responsible for providing design, bid, and construction administration services to modernize various elevator groups throughout the Upstate Medical Campus, including the Syracuse University academic buildings.
The buildings are utilized as both hospital and teaching facility and are equipped with elevators which have exceeded their life expectancy. Due to the facilities’ dependence on the elevators in this high-traffic environment, careful phasing and extensive coordination ensured than only one elevator were under construction at any given time.
A|r collaborated with facility representatives to evaluate durable, easily cleanable finishes and emergency programming into the modernizations that meet both current elevator code requirements and the requirements specific to a medical environment.
