What better way to enjoy the outdoors than on streets designed to create a safe and sustainable environment for pedestrians? The North Union Complete Street project in Olean, New York is an example of A|r’s crafting of a “complete street” that not only mitigates storm water but also offers verdant aesthetics in an urban environment. Complete Streets feature elements such as stormwater management, infrastructure improvement, strengthened pedestrian and bicycle accessibility, traffic calming, focused lighting, parking, and enhanced storefront character. This summer, we invite you to enjoy the outdoors in the comfort and safety of streets designed for both cars and people alike.

Universal Design for Public Comfort Stations

We strive to design for all at every level of the built environment. We are looking beyond Gender Neutral design to Universally designed bathrooms, or comfort stations – conceived to be accessible to all people, regardless of gender expression, age, ability, belief, and social structure.
