Summer is a time for leisurely strolls and enjoying Western New York’s ideal weather. What better way to enjoy the outdoors than on streets designed to create a safe and sustainable environment for pedestrians? The North Union Complete Street project in Olean, New York is an example of A|r’s crafting of a “complete street” that not only mitigates storm water but also offers verdant aesthetics in an urban environment. Complete Streets feature elements such as stormwater management, infrastructure improvement, strengthened pedestrian and bicycle accessibility, traffic calming, focused lighting, parking, and enhanced storefront character. This summer, we invite you to enjoy the outdoors in the comfort and safety of streets designed for both cars and people alike.
