In architectural theory and design practice, buildings are treated as static objects. A design may propose spaces, finishes, and adjacencies that respond to one potential path for a building’s use.
No precise definition of a courtyard exists. Throughout time, courtyards have manifested in many fashions, whether open or enclosed, offering a main attraction or a tranquil transition, a public destination, or a secluded retreat.
The Centre for Addiction and Mental Health (CAMH) is proud to announce the new Waverley House Secure Care & Recovery Building, named in recognition of historic support totaling $203 million from Bruce McKean and the Waverley House Foundation.
Together with Krog Group, the A|r design team is transforming the historic Trico Complex structure into a new, mixed-use destination in downtown Buffalo.
