Early in our firm’s history, we understood the value of a dedicated vertical transportation (VT) design studio to seamlessly blend VT and architectural design into our projects. Then and now, much of our work involves the rehabilitation, adaptive reuse, and preservation of historic buildings and places across our region.

Today, our vertical transportation design team brings expertise to unique and complex elevator modernization projects across all sectors. From new acute medical facilities, to historic campus buildings, Olympic training facilities and public recreation infrastructure, our team contributes to making these places inviting, safe and inclusive for our communities.

Our escalator replacement design project at the New York State Capitol Building in Albany, NY, won the international “Ellie” Award for project of the year and our recently completed historic elevator replacement at Whiteface Mountain will ensure a smooth and accessible journey for nearly 80,000 annual visitors.
